Sanwa is renewing the top of its low profile servo range: the PGS-CLX, announced on 31 August 2026, takes over from the PGS-CL II with two structural changes that speak directly to competition drivers, a fully aluminium case and an all-metal gear train.
Sanwa PGS-CLX: what changes compared with the PGS-CL II
The housing therefore moves to full aluminium, a choice that improves both the rigidity of the assembly and heat dissipation during long mains. On the transmission side, Sanwa announces steel final gears and hybrid aluminium-steel A-gears, a combination designed to absorb steering feedback without needlessly adding weight to the gear train. The motor itself remains a coreless unit.
Sanwa PGS-CLX technical specification
The PGS-CLX (part number 107A54741A) accepts a range of 4.8 to 7.4 V. It claims 0.08 sec/60 degrees and 16.6 kg.cm at 7.4 V, against 0.10 sec/60 degrees and 14.7 kg.cm at 6.0 V. Its dimensions are 40.5 x 20.5 x 26.5 mm for 56.8 g on the scales, classic low profile figures that open the door to 1:10 touring chassis as well as buggies.
SSL, SXR and MULTI SETTING GEAR
The servo is compatible with the brand’s SXR and SSL protocols: on an SSL radio system, the PGS-CLX settings are adjusted directly from the transmitter, without an external programming box. It also remains MULTI SETTING GEAR compatible for those who prefer dedicated programming. The Japanese price is set at 27,500 yen excluding tax.
