1/28 scale is no longer escaping the high-end option race. T-Work’s has just added the TP-227 series to its catalogue, a set of 64 titanium drivetrain parts made for the Team Associated TC28 touring car, listed on 13 August 2026.
T-Work’s TP-227: three titanium driveshaft parts for the Team Associated TC28
The heart of the release is three part numbers that make up a complete driveshaft. The TP-227-B is a CVD joint set priced at $26.59 and given as a direct replacement for original part 21477. The TP-227-C covers the drive cups at $15.39, while the TP-227-D supplies the CVD shafts at $18.19. Each reference comes in packs of two, enough to fit a complete axle.
64 titanium for friction and wear
T-Work’s technical argument is consistent across the range: 64 titanium alloy is lightweight while staying strong, with a low friction coefficient and good wear resistance. The brand claims improved transmission efficiency and sharper acceleration, which matters particularly on a 1/28 car where the inertia of rotating parts weighs proportionally heavily. The complementary TP-227-A, a titanium diff joint set at $18.19, claims 0.27 grams less than original part 21485.
A 1/28 platform moving up in competition
These options feed a recent chassis: the Team Associated TC28 is a belt-driven four-wheel-drive 1/28 touring car with a mid-motor layout, fluid-filled differentials, front and rear anti-roll bars and a steel chassis. A level of sophistication that explains why option specialists such as T-Work’s now treat it in the same way as 1/10 on-road cars.
