The LMH class, inspired by Le Mans Hypercars, is gaining ground in on-road RC. After 1/10, it is now 1/12’s turn to get its own prototype silhouette: SuperRad is launching the Super9RH SR-12, a body cut for the LMH class in 1/12 on-road racing.
The 1/10 SR-37 scaled down to 1/12
Rather than starting from a blank sheet, the American body maker took the lines of its SR-37, already offered in 1/10, and scaled them to 1/12. The idea is to give the still-young 1/12 LMH category a shell consistent with what already runs in the bigger class, while respecting the proportions imposed by the shorter wheelbase of 1/12 chassis.
0.020 inch polycarbonate, wing and masks included
The Super9RH SR-12 is moulded in 0.020 inch polycarbonate, roughly 0.5 mm, a standard thickness for on-road racing: stiff enough to hold downforce, flexible enough to take a hit without tearing. The kit ships complete, with the wing, a decal sheet and window masks, saving you from cutting your own masks before painting.
Price and availability
The body is listed at 38 dollars on the SuperRad online shop under the reference Super9RH-12. That is a mid-range price for the segment for a racing bodyshell supplied with its accessories.
