Mardave, the British manufacturer and 1/12 oval specialist for more than fifty years, unveils the Assassin Pro Kart. The idea is a clever one: the newcomer exists both as a stand-alone complete kit and as a conversion option to fit onto an MD-26 Mini chassis you already own.
Mardave Assassin Pro Kart: a kit or an option for the MD-26 Mini
The base remains Mardave‘s Mini platform, well known on British indoor carpet tracks. The kart kit adds side pods, front and rear bumpers and a driver figure. The brand itself sums up its newcomer as “a great FUN option kit for the MD-26”: assembly essentially consists of grafting the cosmetic components onto the base chassis and you are ready to run.
What the Pro version brings
The Pro variant is not just a body kit. It brings wider side pods, LMPGT-type rear tyres and a modified axle. Enough to widen the rear track and change the balance of the chassis, in the spirit of a real kart rather than a purely cosmetic kit. The whole thing is LiPo-compatible.
An affordable way into 1/12 carpet racing
The Assassin MD-26 Mini range on which the kart is based is designed precisely for accessibility: 2.4 mm carbon tri-weave or 3.2 mm vented GRP chassis, fully adjustable twin shell mounting kit, inline side-hung spring set-up, Z drive axle and an anti-tuck flex bumper. The base kit is offered from £159 in GRP form and £179 in carbon.
Pre-orders for the Assassin Pro Kart were due to open shortly after the announcement at Mardave. An interesting option for clubs looking for a friendly, inexpensive class to run on carpet.
