A shock at the IFMAR 1/10 Nitro Touring Car World Championship being held in Gubbio, Italy: defending champion Jilles Groskamp (Infinity) is eliminated in the Last Chance Final (LCF), beaten by just 0.071 of a second by France’s Quentin Leroux.
An LCF decided right at the line
Starting from pole, Groskamp saw Leroux take the lead during the race. The two drivers pulled away from the rest of the field over the 15-minute race, with Groskamp attempting a late comeback before narrowly falling short in the final sprint.
Quentin Leroux thus claims the last qualifying spot for the Main Final, where he will line up alongside Melvin Diekmann and Toni Gruber, winners of Semi Finals 2 and 1 respectively.
A surprise elimination that completely reshuffles the standings at this 1/10 Nitro Touring World Championship, held on the Italian track of Gubbio.
