Losi 5IVE-TG 3.0: the 1/5 gas desert truck moves to the 35.2cc Fujiwara FJ350RC

The Losi 5IVE-TG 3.0 raises the bar in the 1/5 scale gas desert truck category: this ready-to-run 4WD gets a completely new engine and becomes, according to the brand, the most powerful gas-powered 5IVE-T ever produced. Listed as LOS05025, it is already announced for pre-order at $1,499.99 with an on-sale date of 19 August 2026.

A 35.2cc Fujiwara FJ350RC engine at the heart of the Losi 5IVE-TG 3.0

The real news sits behind the clutch bell: the Fujiwara FJ350RC, a 35.2cc two-stroke gas unit derived from the legendary Zenoah G320. The larger bore increases displacement and translates into clear gains in both torque and power, particularly noticeable in the low and mid range. That is exactly where a 1/5 of this weight needs pull to climb out of bumps and handle jump landings one after another.

Chassis, suspension and drivetrain

The 5IVE-TG 3.0 measures 1,090 mm long, 538 mm wide and 391 mm tall, with a 660 mm wheelbase. Damping is handled by new 32 mm big bore shocks with tapered pistons, while the 4WD drivetrain uses a 43/12 ring and pinion and a 67-tooth spur gear. Steering is driven by a 15-spline, metal-top servo delivering 1,000 oz/in, a figure needed to move wheels of this size.

8.5-inch Pro-Line tyres and officially licensed KMC wheels

The wheels do not go unnoticed: 8.5-inch Pro-Line Mirage TT tyres mounted on officially licensed KMC KM549 wheels fitted with the Pro-Loc bead lock system. The body is made up of six injection-moulded polypropylene panels, a classic choice in 1/5 scale to survive rolls without cracking.

A ready-to-run package that arrives almost complete

The RTR package includes a Spektrum DX3 Smart transmitter paired with an SR615 DSMR receiver, along with a 7.4V 4,000 mAh 2S Smart LiPo receiver pack. Straight out of the box, all that remains is to prepare the gas / two-stroke oil mix and carry out the usual setup before the first run.
