The new Xray XT2 has been online since Friday 21 August 2026, a release date announced a few days earlier by the Slovak brand. This generation of the 1/10 2WD competition stadium truck is built around an all-new 2.5mm chassis whose flex has been completely reworked, with a clear goal: more traction, more control and an even lower centre of gravity. On its official presentation page, Xray refers to this evolution as the XT2’28, while the first specialist outlets announce it under the XT2’27 name.

Xray XT2: a 2.5mm chassis with optimised flex

The heart of the new Xray XT2 is its 2.5mm main chassis plate, with flex calibrated to maximise traction. The rear chassis section has been widened for extra stability, and an all-new Flat Chassis Brace allows lengthwise stiffness to be tuned precisely. The side guards are longer: they extend flex control and also provide a new fan mounting position. The RF (C) front suspension holder has been redesigned to integrate with that brace.

Updated 3G gearbox and lower centre of gravity

The drivetrain has not been forgotten. The 3G gearbox has been updated to work with the lower chassis brace, the motor mount has been lowered to bring the centre of gravity down, and lighter differential outdrives reduce rotating mass. The brand claims sharper acceleration, crisper braking and improved drivetrain efficiency. At the rear, an aluminium roll centre holder adds a third adjustment position and provides clearance for the rear anti-roll bar collar.

Suspension, shocks and low-profile body

On the suspension side, the Xray XT2 uses solid medium front and rear arms, 3.5mm turnbuckles and 5.4mm ball ends said to be stronger, with 5.4mm composite ball joints for smoother, more consistent movement. The front and rear carbon shock towers are all-new, with lower mounting geometry, while shock bodies and shafts have been shortened to reduce mass further. Front and rear springs are now compatible with those of the XB2, +2mm shock ball joints widen the droop adjustment range, and -2mm and -4mm spring collars round out ride height tuning. A dedicated low-profile body and a soft composite front anti-roll bar mounting plate complete the package.
