Team Powers: 30mm and 40mm Hemicycle fan shrouds to bring motor temperatures down

Team Powers is preparing the release of its new Hemicycle fan shrouds, announced in two sizes: 30mm and 40mm. The Hong Kong brand, whose electronics have just taken the modified touring car title at the Chinese National Championships in the hands of Kenrick Fong, is this time tackling an often overlooked area: how the air actually reaches the motor.
Fan shrouds that channel the airflow
A fan mounted bare on a bracket loses part of its output to the sides of the motor, where it does nothing. The shroud closes off that volume and directs the air onto the motor can. With its hemicycle shape, Team Powers claims a more even distribution of the flow over the full height of the motor, and therefore a faster temperature drop than without a shroud.
A thermoplastic that does not warp
The weak point of this kind of part is heat resistance: a part that is too soft ends up deforming against a motor that heats up, and starts rubbing on the impeller. Team Powers here announces a premium thermoplastic chosen for its thermal resistance, precisely to avoid that warping in prolonged use.
A universal fit in 30mm and 40mm
Both versions use the standard sizes of the market: 30mm for compact fans, 40mm for the high output fans that have become the norm in modified. Team Powers claims compatibility with the vast majority of fans in these formats, which avoids having to change fan to benefit from the shroud.
Why it matters in 1:10 touring
In 1:10 modified touring, motor temperature directly drives consistency over the length of a final: a motor that climbs loses efficiency and wears faster. Gaining a few degrees without touching the setup, simply by improving air circulation, remains one of the cheapest optimisations in the hobby. Availability and pricing have not been announced yet.
