The 2026 Chinese 1:10 national championships were held last weekend at the huge FS Raceway, and it is Kenrick Fong who takes the modified touring title. The driver, racing under Mugen Seiki and Team Powers colours, won a main that the weather brought to an abrupt early end.
Chinese 1:10 Nationals: more than 1,800 entries
The event posted impressive numbers: over 1,800 registrations spread across all categories and classes. Organisers also placed a strong emphasis on team events for young drivers, a development focus that is increasingly visible in Chinese RC.
A modified touring main cut short by a storm
In modified touring, the main was cut short by a severe storm. Kenrick Fong was leading when the race was stopped: the win went to him, and with it the Chinese national title in 1:10 on-road’s premier class.
A title followed by a departure
The weekend’s story did not end on the podium. Straight after his title, Kenrick Fong announced his departure from Mugen Seiki. The news adds to an eventful spell for the Japanese brand’s touring programme, which has just publicly reaffirmed its commitment to 1:10 electric.
