Xray‘s X4 confirms its dominance in 1/10 nitro touring at round 3 of the HKRCSA championship (Hong Kong RC Sports Association), held on a brand-new asphalt track. Driver Kimi Yam pulled off a spectacular comeback: starting only 6th in qualifying after a rear differential issue and some risky setup choices that didn’t pay off, he ultimately took the win in the final thanks to bold overtakes.
An all-Xray X4 podium
Behind Kimi Yam, the HKRCSA Round 3 podium was entirely made up of Xray X4 drivers: Kenrick Fong finished 2nd and Ah Ho completed the sweep in 3rd. A result that highlights the versatility of the X4 chassis on a new surface, where managing evolving grip levels is essential.
On the setup side, Kimi Yam says he went with a steel chassis combined with short arms and long turnbuckles, a choice that softens the car’s behaviour and makes overtaking in heavy traffic easier.
A new track, new reference points
“I was a bit unlucky in qualifying with a rear diff problem, and I tried some risky setups that didn’t work,” says Kimi Yam. A performance that ultimately proved far better in the final, where the Xray X4 showed its ability to adapt to a track surface still unfamiliar to the drivers.
