Serpent is rounding out the option catalogue for its 990R 1/8 on-road car with a part that goes straight to the essentials: rear geometry. Named LRC, for Low Roll Center, the set carries the part number SER903908.

Serpent 990R LRC: 1 mm that changes the whole rear geometry

The principle is as simple as it is effective. The set repositions the rear lower suspension arms 1 millimetre lower, which drops the rear roll centre by the same amount. A subtle change on paper, but one whose effects are felt immediately on track.

More traction, a sharper turn-in

By lowering the rear roll centre, load transfer onto the axle increases and so does the traction available on the throttle. Serpent also reports more responsive steering on corner entry, with the rear more willing to rotate. On a 1/8 on-road car, where every tenth comes down to how the car turns in and then gets out of a corner, this is exactly the kind of adjustment you are looking for.

Proven at the highest level by Andrea Catanzani

The option is anything but theoretical: Andrea Catanzani relied on this configuration when he took pole position at the IFMAR 1/8 On-Road World Championship held in Chile. A reference worth more than a long sales pitch for 990R drivers chasing that last tenth.
