Racing Bull is entering the 1/28 market with the Mini28, a racing kit developed and manufactured in Slovenia. The maker is betting on a concept that runs against the grain: no front suspension, direct rear-wheel drive and an in-house flex system.

The Mini28 1/28 racing kit relies on a rigid front end

Founded by Tadej and Kramelina Štrok, Racing Bull has set aside conventional small-scale layouts. The Mini28 has no conventional front suspension: the rigid front end delivers a direct and precise feel, while chassis movement and compliance are handled entirely at the rear.

The 3D Flex System, at the heart of the concept

That job falls to the 3D Flex Pod System, tuned with interchangeable softer or stiffer springs. The driver can adjust the flex characteristics according to track conditions, grip level, tire choice and driving style. The front stays simple, light and rigid, while all compliance is moved to the rear pod, a system the brand continues to develop and refine through testing.

The Mini28 also uses direct rear-wheel drive, intended to provide an immediate connection between throttle input and the rear wheels, giving the car a lively character.

133 g ready to run

Fully equipped, electronics included, the Mini28 weighs approximately 133 g. The chassis measures around 130 mm without the front bumper and 141 mm with it, for a width of approximately 78 mm depending on the chosen wheel and tire combination. It accepts both brushed and brushless motors and is aimed primarily at indoor 1/28 racing.

Sold as an assembly kit with electronics not included, the Mini28 is listed at €240 on the manufacturer’s website, currently offered at €168 as a launch price. Spare parts are listed separately.
