JConcepts is expanding its catalog dedicated to the Mugen Seiki MBX-8 1/8 buggy with a new Fin Titanium turnbuckle kit, designed to combine extreme lightness and maximum rigidity on track. This high-end setup set reuses the American brand’s signature ‘Fin’ design, and fits both the MBX-8 and the Eco version.
A titanium turnbuckle kit built for precise setup on the Mugen MBX-8
Listed under part numbers 2584-1 (Burnt Blue finish) and 2584-2 (Stealth Black finish), this kit consists of five pieces machined from high-quality titanium, including camber and toe turnbuckles as well as a 3mm titanium drag link. The robust 5mm square base tapers progressively to a threaded tip, a technical choice that reduces drag and lightens the suspension without sacrificing strength in a crash.
The practical detail hasn’t been overlooked: each turnbuckle carries a marking to instantly identify its left or right orientation during assembly, a real time-saver for mechanics in the pits when changing setups between rounds.
On pricing, JConcepts lists this kit at $55.00 MSRP, with a MAP set at $46.75. A dedicated turnbuckle wrench, part number 2508, is offered separately to fine-tune front and rear setups without damaging the titanium.
For Mugen Seiki MBX-8 drivers in competition, this type of titanium turnbuckle represents an interesting trade-off between reducing unsprung weight and mechanical reliability, two decisive factors on the fast, bumpy tracks typical of 1/8 off-road racing.
