The 2026 1/8 nitro buggy Euro B championship delivered its verdict on 31 August at the ACDB Os Beirões track in Guarda, Portugal. After a hard-fought 45-minute final, Spain’s Iker Tellez came out on top and took the continental title home.

A 45-minute final controlled from start to finish

On the attack from the moment the lights went out, Iker Tellez took the lead and never gave it up. The Spanish driver, running a Team Associated chassis, also set the fastest lap of the final and crossed the line with more than half a lap in hand over his closest rival. A masterclass in consistency, in an event where pit-stop management and clean driving matter as much as outright pace.

Baird and Becerril complete the podium

Behind the new champion, Northern Ireland’s Bradley Baird grabbed second place at the wheel of a Mugen Seiki, while Spain’s Erik Becerril Rodriguez took the third step, also on a Team Associated machine. Italy’s Andrea Cairoli just missed out in fourth, again on Team Associated.

Worth noting: pole position for the final had gone to Britain’s Erik Lykke on an Agama chassis, who was unable to convert that performance in the decisive race.

What this result says about the European field

Euro B, the second division of the EFRA-sanctioned 1/8 nitro buggy European Championship, traditionally acts as a launch pad towards the elite level. The podium confirms the depth of the Spanish nitro off-road field, and the dominance of Team Associated platforms over this Portuguese weekend — two of the three podium buggies, plus fourth place.

Attention now turns to the next rounds of the EFRA calendar to see whether Iker Tellez confirms his rise at A level.
