The 1.2mm spring steel chassis from Axon for the TC10/4 adds to the option list of the Japanese 1/10 electric touring car. The principle is familiar to on-road racers: replace the original carbon plate with a denser, thinner steel plate to bring the car’s centre of gravity down without changing anything else on the chassis.

Axon TC10/4: a spring steel chassis with a completely redesigned shape

At Axon, this is not simply a steel copy of the original plate: the manufacturer announces a completely redesigned chassis shape for this 1.2mm version. The stated goal is twofold — lower the centre of gravity and allow higher cornering speeds, two things that go hand in hand on high-grip tracks.

Sharper handling on the TC10/4

The brand claims sharper handling and improved response, in line with what touring car drivers look for when switching to spring steel: more low-down weight, a re-centred weight distribution and a flex profile different from carbon. The option is designed for the TC10/4, the 1/10 touring car launched by Axon in the summer of 2025, and joins the tuning parts already offered for this chassis, such as the aluminium bump stoppers and the pulley bearing holders.
