The T-Work’s titanium centre driveshafts for the Kyosho Inferno MP11e lighten the drivetrain of the Japanese 1/8 electric buggy. The Taiwanese option specialist offers two lengths, one for the front link and one for the rear link.
Two lengths for the Kyosho MP11e drivetrain
The front centre driveshaft, part number TP-200F-MP11E, measures 88.5 mm. The TP-200R-MP11E rear centre driveshaft is 112 mm. Both parts are machined from grade 64 titanium, the Ti-6Al-4V alloy usually found on high-end option parts in competition RC.
Why switch to titanium on the centre driveshafts
On a 1/8 electric buggy, the centre driveshafts link the centre differential to the front and rear differentials: they turn permanently and take the full motor torque. Reducing their mass directly reduces the rotational inertia of the whole drivetrain.
According to T-Work’s, the gain translates into a more efficient drivetrain, sharper acceleration on corner exit and slightly higher top speed at the end of the straight. Titanium also brings good corrosion resistance and excellent fatigue life, two welcome points on a part that works non-stop.
Price
The TP-200F-MP11E front driveshaft is listed at $16.10 and the TP-200R-MP11E rear driveshaft at $17.50 from T-Work’s. Both part numbers join an already well-stocked MP11/MP11e range at the manufacturer, which also offers 7075-T6 aluminium engine mounts and carbon side guards for the Kyosho buggy.
