Ahead of this weekend’s Singapore Grand Prix, Kimi Antonelli, leader of the Formula 1 World Championship, treated himself to an unexpected session behind the wheel of a radio-controlled car. The young Italian driver took the controls of an Infinity IF18-3 1:8 car on the permanent RCMC Marine Parade track, freshly resurfaced for the occasion.
Three hours of testing for Kimi Antonelli’s Infinity IF18-3
On Wednesday 8 October 2026, Antonelli put in three hours of running on the track hosting this weekend’s 20th Singapore Nitro Grand Prix. Coached by Italian tuner Lamberto Collari, a nine-time world champion, the F1 driver was only a tenth of a second off the lap time of Naoto Matsukura, world champion in 1:10 nitro touring car, setting a new track record in the process. His father Marco Antonelli will also be on the grid in the 1:8 class.
Shoki Takahata, Mugen Seiki’s 1:8 on-road world champion, was also present during the session.
