The 2026 400 RC Compound Fall Classic will go down as one of the biggest 1/8 off-road gatherings of the Canadian season. On 30 and 31 August, 400 RC Raceway in Ontario welcomed close to 330 entries spread over eight classes, from front-running nitro buggies all the way to novices. A turnout that places this Fall Classic among the essential late-summer meetings in North America.

400 RC Compound Fall Classic: Shewfelt and Lemieux swap roles

The weekend’s storyline came down to a three-way duel. In 1/8 nitro buggy, Douglas Shewfelt won ahead of Chase Lemieux and Brandon Rose, with Camden Lime and Cole Ogden completing the top 5. A few hours later, in Ebuggy, the same trio returned to the podium but in a completely reshuffled order: Chase Lemieux came out on top, Brandon Rose finished second and Douglas Shewfelt had to settle for third, ahead of Aydin Horne and Camden Lime.

Truggy, 40+ and Short Course: the other winners

In truggy, Daemon Holon won ahead of Loic Deschenes and Andrew Philippe, with Ryan Martin and Tim Robinson just off the podium. The Etruggy class went to Mark Sousa, who beat Anthony Bishamber and Kurtis Ropp, with Dave Steele and Loic Deschenes in fourth and fifth.

Among the over-40s, Tommy Giovinazzo took 40+ Buggy ahead of Roland Laurence and Monty Wolff, while Justin Williams pulled off the double of the weekend: victory in 40+ Ebuggy ahead of Steve Bulmann and Dave Henry, then another win in Short Course, this time ahead of Carolyn Wolff and Jonathan Hilton. Finally, in Novice, Charlie Hansen won ahead of Rodney Holmes and Gregory Schell.

An entry list that confirms the health of 1/8 off-road

With eight full classes and a very broad split between nitro and electric, the Fall Classic confirms that North American 1/8 off-road is in good shape: the Ebuggy and Etruggy grids now rival their nitro equivalents in depth, and the 40+ classes attract a loyal core of drivers. 400 RC Raceway thus closes its summer season on a benchmark entry list.
