Stainless steel drive shafts cut for the LCG chassis
Injora keeps equipping the Axial SCX24 and has posted part number SCX24-202, a pair of stainless steel drive shafts. The set includes two lengths, 40.5 mm for the front and 52.6 mm for the rear, for a stated total weight of 17.6 g.
The key point is not the material but the dimension: these shafts are deliberately a little shorter than the stock SCX24 parts. Injora sized them for its own 132 mm wheelbase LCG chassis and for the WG24 transmission, two very common modifications on this platform, where relocating the transmission leaves the stock shafts slightly too long — with the slop, clunking and premature wear that come with it.
D-shaped holes to kill slop at the transmission output
The shafts use a D-shaped machining at their ends instead of the usual round bore. Flat contact against the flat of the shaft removes the parasitic rotation between the shaft and the transmission output or axle input. On a 1/24 crawler, where gearing is enormous and torque is applied slowly, it is precisely that micro-slop that eventually rounds out the parts.
Stainless steel and an in-phase design
Construction is stainless steel, with what Injora describes as an in-phase design: the two yokes on a given shaft are aligned with one another, which avoids the instantaneous speed variations typical of out-of-phase joints. The structure is reinforced compared with stock, and both shaft and joint diameters stay scale-accurate, a criterion that counts on a scale model where everything under the chassis is on show.
Compatibility and price
The set covers the main SCX24 versions: JLU, C10, Bronco, Base Camp and 4Runner. Part number SCX24-202 is listed at $15.99 at Injora, posted on 25 August 2026. It is part of the run of options the brand is currently rolling out around the SCX24, after its carbon LCG chassis and its IR90-24 body.
