Pro-Motion RC is extending its titanium hardware range to Team Associated‘s latest 1/8 buggies. Two new part numbers appeared in the American brand’s catalogue on 20 August 2026: a Flat Top titanium screw kit for the nitro RC8B4.2, and an equivalent kit for the electric RC8B4.2e.

Grade 5 titanium with an in-house head

The Flat Top range from J&T Bearing Co, the company behind Pro-Motion RC, is machined from certified grade 5 6Al4V titanium. The brand insists on one point: this is not generic hardware available off the shelf from any supplier, but a design developed in house, with a specific flat head and tight tolerances. The aim is twofold: shed weight where possible, and take care of the car’s visual appearance.

Deliberately selective “upper” kits

This is probably the most interesting aspect of the announcement. Pro-Motion RC is not selling a full hardware replacement: the kits only contain the screws the brand considers worth switching to titanium. High-stress areas are deliberately excluded, as are 2.5 mm screws. It is a sensible approach on a 1/8 buggy, where weight saving must never be paid for with a failure mid-race.

Each kit covers several screw lengths and comes in two finishes: natural titanium and Oil Slick titanium, the latter delivering the iridescent effect sought after for carefully detailed builds.

Price

The kit for the nitro RC8B4.2 is listed at 155.00 dollars in natural titanium and 179.00 dollars in the Oil Slick finish. The kit for the electric RC8B4.2e, lighter on part count, comes down to 115.00 dollars in natural and 139.00 dollars in Oil Slick. Both part numbers are sold direct on the brand’s store.
