British tuner Trackside Performance is tackling a sensitive area of the nitro 1/8 buggy: the centre diff top plate of the Agama N2. Its HD version, machined from aluminium, is a direct replacement for the kit’s plastic part and aims to be significantly more rigid.
Agama N2 centre diff top plate: gaining rigidity
The part is machined in the United Kingdom from high-grade aluminium and drops straight in for the original plate. It links to the throttle servo mount to form a more unified assembly, which limits flex in the central area of the chassis when the engine pushes and when the brake works. On a competition 1/8, that central section is precisely what takes the harshest loads.
Bearings included and brake compatibility
Two 5x10x4mm bearings come with the plate, which remains compatible with the standard Agama brake components: no disc or pad to change. Trackside Performance highlights more consistent braking over the length of a heat, the plastic plate having a tendency to deform under load and to make brake travel vary.
Price and models covered
The plate is listed at £46.99 on the manufacturer’s store and covers the Agama N2 and N1. An affordable option to make the centre drivetrain of a race-going 1/8 buggy more dependable.
