Gluing tires remains one of the most thankless chores in preparing an RC car. Whitz Racing Products is tackling it with the Whitz Racing Tire Glue Bands, a set of elastic bands whose only job is to press the carcass firmly against the wheel while the cyanoacrylate sets. The product went online on 2 September 2026 on the brand’s official store.

Tire Glue Bands designed for 1/10 scale tires

The manufacturer sums up its own product in one line: these are “suspenders, but for your tires not your trousers”. The image speaks for itself. Once the band is wrapped around the tire mounted on its wheel, the tension of the elastic spreads the pressure around the whole circumference and closes the carcass onto the wheel lip. The glue then simply flows into an already closed joint, instead of you having to pinch the tire by hand inch by inch.

The bands are sized for 1/10 scale, which covers the vast majority of 2WD and 4WD buggies, truggies and club touring cars. The set includes four bands, enough to handle all four wheels of a car in one go rather than one after another.

Tabs to place the band in the right spot

The detail that sets these bands apart from a plain office rubber band is the moulded tabs at each end. They give you something to grip so you can tension the band without twisting it, and above all so you can position it precisely on the glue line: a badly centred band distorts the sidewall and leaves a gap on the wheel side, exactly the flaw you are trying to avoid. Each band also carries the brand’s #FlyTheW logo, which doubles as an authenticity mark.

Price and availability

The set of four Tire Glue Bands is listed at $13.00 on the Whitz Racing Products store, in stock, in either green (part number WRP-BAND-GRN) or grey (WRP-BAND-GRY). Both colours sell at the same price and differ only in shade. At that price the accessory falls into the category of small pit tools you rarely have to buy twice: one set put away carefully after each gluing session will last several seasons.
