British driver Tim Wood, driving a Shepherd chassis, has been crowned 2026 British 1:8 on-road champion following the final round of the season, held at the Cotswold circuit.
Qualifying dominance, a final disrupted by rain
Top qualifier ahead of Andy Hastings, Tim Wood built up enough of a lead in the overall standings to secure the title despite heavy rain disrupting the final: half the field, himself included, chose not to start the decisive race on the soaked track.
Craig Hook wins in the rain
Craig Hook ultimately won that rain-affected final, ahead of Ashley Gouveia and Daniel Ludena. Tim Wood succeeds Alex Thurston (Mugen Seiki) on the British 1:8 on-road championship roll of honour.
