Team Associated RC10 4WD Jay Halsey Chain Drive Edition, a vintage chain-drive buggy

Team Associated has launched the RC10 4WD Jay Halsey Chain Drive Edition Kit (#6056), a reissue paying tribute to one of the brand’s historic drivers. Jay Halsey won the 1985 2WD World Championship before racing a chain-drive 4WD buggy prototype at the very first IFMAR Worlds in Del Mar that same year, finishing runner-up overall.

The kit pairs the RC10’s iconic gold chassis look with a reinforced stainless-steel chain drive and hardened sprocket gears, a carbon-fibre chain separator, and natural anodized aluminium shock towers. The long-travel shocks are oil-filled, and the buggy accepts either 6-cell NiMH packs or 2S LiPo, running through sealed 3-speed Stealth A.T.C. gearboxes.

The kit is available for pre-order through Team Associated, a piece that should appeal to collectors and vintage 4WD racers alike.
