Takashima D-13 takes a new step forward with the mass production launch of its first titanium chassis plates for 1/10 touring, following months of development on its steel range.
A titanium chassis for four 1/10 touring platforms
This new titanium range is available for four of the most widely used chassis in 1/10 touring competition: the Mi10 (Schumacher), the A800RR (Awesomatix), the SP2 and the MS2.0. According to Takashima D-13, the titanium alloy used combines low weight with high strength, giving a more refined chassis flex response than the brand’s standard spring-steel plates.
The brand claims gains in cornering speed, stability and a lower center of gravity thanks to this new material. The plates get a black surface coating, giving them a premium finish distinct from the steel versions already sold by the brand.
A tougher manufacturing process, now stabilised
Titanium is considerably harder to machine than the spring steel Takashima D-13 has used until now, which explains the delay before mass production. The brand says it has developed a dedicated manufacturing method to ensure stable, repeatable production of these high-end chassis.
