T-Work’s continues to expand its option range for 1/8 chassis with part number TO-262-X5B, a pair of DLC coated 4×67 mm arm shafts for the Hong Nor X5B priced at 8.39 dollars. The part is a direct replacement for the original X3.6-07 reference.
What the DLC coating brings
The DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) treatment is promoted for its extremely high surface hardness and its resistance to both wear and scratching. On an arm shaft that is exactly what you want: constant contact with the bushings and abrasive dirt always ends up marking a bare shaft, which creates play and stiffens the suspension travel.
The second benefit claimed by T-Work’s is reduced friction between moving parts, which means an arm that slides more freely and more consistent suspension travel throughout a main.
A suspension part not to be overlooked
The arm shaft guides the wheel’s movement and maintains its lateral stability while allowing clean vertical travel. On a 1/8 car it is a discreet but decisive wear part: a slightly marked shaft is enough to make the suspension sticky and to undo all the setup work done on the shocks.
Compatibility
The TO-262-X5B is sold in pairs and covers the Hong Nor X5B, iX5B, X3 GTS and X3 GTSe, so both the 1/8 off-road buggy and the brand’s on-road GT cars.
