Reckward-Tuning is offering a complete flat-lying shock conversion kit for the Mugen Seiki MBX8R. Listed as RT4114 and sold for €189.95 by RMV Deutschland, this front and rear kit is supplied as a matched, ready-to-install package, compatible with both the nitro MBX8R and the electric MBX8R ECO.
An MBX8R flat-lying shock kit built to last
Laying the shocks flat on a 1/8 buggy changes the suspension geometry and the way energy is absorbed. But the installation still has to survive over time. That is precisely the angle taken here: rather than simply moving the mounting points, Reckward-Tuning reworked the fastening itself.
Nylon-insert screws and anti-crack grooves
The mounting on the suspension arms uses high-strength hardware with nylon locking, which prevents loosening under vibration — a classic issue on 1/8 nitro cars. Above all, the inserts are grooved: the grooves spread the clamping pressure instead of concentrating it on the sensitive area of the plastic arm, which clearly reduces the risk of cracking in use.
Asymmetric wing-style lower mount
The lower shock mount adopts an asymmetric wing shape: one side has a through-hole, the other a reinforced thread. The connection is therefore rigid and play-free, the ball stud no longer works loose, and the risk of stripping the thread during repeated race-weekend teardowns is greatly reduced. The kit is CNC machined in Germany.
Developed with the Kilic team
The RT4114 was developed in cooperation with RMV Deutschland and engineer Paul Eckmann, then validated in competition by the Kilic family — Burak Kilic, Berkan Kilic and Abdullah Kilic — who run it in both nitro and electric configurations. Supplied as a complete front and rear package, it avoids having to source parts one by one to balance the car.
