Chinese hop-up specialist RCAWD has just listed a set of aluminum front upper suspension arms for the whole Arrma 1/8 6S family. The stock part it targets is ARA330655 — the one that breaks most often when you clip a kerb or blow a backflip landing.

CNC-machined 6061 aluminum front upper arms

Where Arrma ships a composite front upper arm, RCAWD offers a part CNC-machined from 6061 aluminum. The benefit isn’t purely cosmetic: the hinge pin bearing surfaces are machined true, which removes the slop that shows up on a tired plastic arm and eventually messes with your camber. The set is sold in pairs, so you cover the left and right sides in one go.

Installation requires no modification: the geometry mirrors the stock layout, using the same hinge pins and the same ball studs. It’s a direct replacement, not a conversion.

Which Arrma 6S models are covered

The stated compatibility covers every 1/8 6S chassis that uses part number ARA330655, which is a large slice of the Arrma catalogue: Kraton 6S (ARA106040, ARA106053, ARA8608V5), Outcast 6S (ARA106042, ARA106060, ARA8707, ARA8710 EXB), plus the Notorious 6S and Talion 6S. In short, if your 6S monster truck or stunt truck is from a recent generation, the part should drop straight in.

One caveat: on a 1/8 6S, stiffening one suspension point moves the load somewhere else. An aluminum arm no longer flexes and no longer breaks, but it passes more into the arm mount and the front bulkhead. That’s the classic trade-off of going aluminum on a bashing machine, and it’s worth knowing before you convert everything.

Price and colours

The two-arm set is listed at $29.99 on the RCAWD store, in three anodised finishes: red, black and blue. The listing went live on 25 August 2026.
