Highly anticipated first test in the small world of competition 1/8 nitro buggy: French YouTube channel Full RC Zone has just published a video featuring the Ragnar alternative chassis, fitted to a Kyosho MP10 Competizione and tested in real conditions at the off-road track in Cogolin, southern France.

The Ragnar chassis put to the test on the Kyosho MP10 Competizione

On paper, the idea is simple but bold: replace the stock plate of the Kyosho MP10 Competizione with an alternative chassis from Ragnar, still little known and until now untested on track in front of a camera. The stakes of this kind of conversion are well known to 1/8 buggy drivers: a more or less rigid chassis, a different flex distribution or an alternative material can radically change the handling of a competition car, for better or worse.

This is exactly the value of this session filmed by Full RC Zone at the Cogolin track: offering a first concrete feedback, under real running conditions, before the Ragnar chassis is possibly adopted more widely by the community. The footage shows the setup, the first laps and the adjustments made to the MP10 Competizione throughout the session, in a development exercise typical of testing a prototype or small-batch product.

The session did not go entirely without a hitch, as the video title clearly indicates: one run ended with an on-track breakage. This kind of incident is far from trivial when testing an alternative chassis: it is precisely what helps spot weak points before any potential validation in competition, and it illustrates well why these filmed tests hold real value for the RC community.

By publishing this video the day after filming, Full RC Zone confirms its role as a watchdog for the novelties circulating in the world of 1/8 nitro buggy, between official gear from major brands like Kyosho and alternative solutions offered by more confidential players.
