French driver Jérôme Sartel has claimed the EFRA 40+ European Championship title in 1/8 nitro buggy, a category reserved for veteran drivers, after a hard-fought weekend at the WMW Fehring circuit in Austria.

A controlled final aboard the Team Associated

Having set the fastest semi-final time, Sartel started the 45-minute final from pole position. Aboard his Team Associated buggy, he steadily built his lead to eventually take the win with a four-second margin over his rivals.

Behind him, the podium was completed by two drivers on SWORKz: Graham Alsop took second place ahead of Martin Fortmüller. In qualifying, it was Fortmüller who set the fastest time, ahead of Sartel and Joseph Quagraine, before light rain disrupted the start of the weekend.

An EFRA 40+ title that rewards consistency

This EFRA 40+ European Championship honours veteran drivers in 1/8 nitro buggy, where race experience often makes the difference when managing a long final. For Sartel, this title confirms an excellent level of performance on the European off-road nitro scene.
