After making a name for itself in 1/5 touring and 1/8 GT chassis, Genius Racing is about to step onto brand new ground: the 1/8 nitro off-road buggy market. The brand has just unveiled a teaser for a model called the GB8, presented as the result of more than two years of development.
Genius Racing GB8: an arrival announced in off-road racing
According to the first available information, the design of the Genius Racing GB8 involved designer Didian Ho, whose name is already circulating within the RC community. The chassis reportedly went through numerous iterations before reaching its final version, finalized only a few weeks before this announcement.
No complete technical specifications have been released at this stage. Neither the chassis, the suspension, nor the drivetrain components have been detailed publicly, suggesting that Genius Racing is still keeping its cards close before a more official launch.
What is certain is that the arrival of the GB8 confirms the brand’s ambition to expand beyond its usual playing field. Tackling the 1/8 nitro buggy segment, already fiercely contested by well-established players, is a bet worth watching closely in the coming weeks.
RC News will continue to follow announcements about the Genius Racing GB8 and will publish the technical specifications as soon as they are officially communicated by the brand.
