Nitro is not done yet: FTX is launching the Khaos, a 1/10 4WD ready-to-run truggy powered by an SH .21 glow engine. Listed as FTX5568G in green and FTX5568O in orange, the FTX Khaos is priced at 309.99 GBP at the British manufacturer.
An SH .21 engine and a tuned pipe
The FTX Khaos uses a 3.48cc SH .21 pull-start two-stroke, matched with a polished aluminium manifold and tuned pipe. The three-shoe clutch feeds a shaft-driven 4WD drivetrain, with metal-geared front and rear differentials, front CVA driveshafts and 12mm aluminium wheel hexes. Braking is handled by dual discs, and the 125cc fuel tank allows long runs.
Aluminium chassis and adjustable suspension
The platform is built around a 3mm blue-anodised 6061/T6 aluminium chassis. The oil-filled big-bore shocks are adjustable, the long-travel arms run on ball bearings, and the Khaos allows the usual race adjustments: droop, camber, toe-in and wheelbase. Steering comes from a waterproof 9kg metal-geared Etronix servo, controlled by an Etronix EX4M 4-channel 2.4GHz radio.
FTX Khaos specifications
Length 485mm, width 340mm, height 175mm, wheelbase 325mm, tyres of 120 x 70mm, 9.7:1 gear ratio and a weight of 3,000g. The truggy is delivered almost fully assembled, with radio and body already fitted: all that is left is transmitter batteries, fuel and a glow starter.
