Craig Drescher has officially been appointed Futaba brand ambassador in the UK. One of the most decorated British drivers in RC history is therefore joining the Japanese radio manufacturer’s colours, after roughly a year of using its equipment.
A leading British driver joins Futaba
Craig Drescher‘s record speaks for itself: European Championship wins and British national titles built up season after season, over a career entirely shaped around Team Associated, where he now serves as head of sales for Europe. He is also a very active figure on the British vintage scene, a movement that has never been healthier across the Channel.
T7XC and 10XCR: twelve months of use before the deal
He is keen to stress that the deal did not come out of nowhere: he has been running Futaba equipment for around twelve months. He singles out the T7XC transmitter and the newer 10XCR. “These products are incredibly high quality, and you only have to pick one up and hold it to feel the difference,” he explains, pointing out that the radio remains the only real link between driver and car — a component he sees no sense in cutting corners on.
Next stop: Las Vegas
The appointment comes as Craig Drescher prepares to travel to the Team Associated Vintage Championship in Las Vegas, an event that brings together in early September the American brand’s historic chassis and the drivers who shaped the history of 1/10 off-road racing.
