Boost RC offers a 1.5mm spring steel chassis for the Mugen Seiki MTC-3 1/10 electric touring car. The stated goal is a better balance between front responsiveness and rear stability.
The Boost RC steel chassis for the Mugen Seiki MTC-3
The plate is made of 1.5mm thick spring steel with a black finish and weighs 147 grams. It fits using the original MTC-3 screws and hardware, with no modification.
Compared with a carbon chassis, a steel chassis moves mass downwards and changes the overall stiffness of the car. Boost RC is aiming here at a precise compromise: increased steering response, greater confidence at the rear, and overall easier and more consistent handling from run to run.
A motor cooling kit included
The chassis comes with a complete sliding motor cooling duct kit. It includes two mounting plates, a standard version and a sliding version, plus ducts sized for 30mm and 40mm fans. These parts are made of carbon fibre reinforced polymer.
The sliding plate allows the duct position to be adjusted according to the motor layout and the chosen fan, a useful detail on a touring car where space around the motor is tight.
