Hop-up brand Batrazzi continues its work on FMS micro-crawlers with an aluminum lower chassis link set designed specifically for the 1/24 FCX24M Tacoma. The part number is BTZ1140BK-AL, in a black anodised finish.
Four machined links, two lengths
The kit replaces the chassis’s four lower links with parts CNC-machined from high-grade aluminum, anodised to resist corrosion and rubbing against rocks. The quoted dimensions are precise: 59.2 × 10 × 2.5 mm and 1.3 g for the front lower links, 78.1 × 10 × 2.5 mm and 1.7 g for the rears. The complete set weighs 12.2 g.
On a 1/24 crawler, the links are what take the hits when the body drags sideways across an obstacle. The stock FMS parts are moulded plastic: they flex, and that parasitic flex throws off axle geometry as soon as the chassis twists on very uneven ground. Going aluminum removes the deflection and makes the suspension’s response easier to read.
Everything supplied, 1.3 mm hex to fit
The pack isn’t limited to the links themselves: Batrazzi supplies two front lower links, two rear lower links, eight Ø3.5 × 4.9 mm brass ball ends, sixteen Ø3.3 × Ø1.7 × 0.8 mm O-rings, four PM1.4 × 8 screws and four PM1.4 × 10 screws. In other words, you rebuild the underside of the chassis without salvaging anything from the stock parts. Only one tool is needed: a 1.3 mm hex driver.
The choice of brass ball ends is no accident at this scale. Brass is dense, and the few grams added low down on a 1/24 feed straight into lowering the centre of gravity — a stability gain on off-camber sections that matters more, on a crawler, than saving weight.
