Hitec is rounding out its charger family with the RDX4 Mini, a compact version of its in-house four-port charger. Listed as part number 44350, it brings four independent ports back into a case the size of a hand, for a retail price of $139.99.

The Hitec RDX4 Mini: 100W on AC, 240W on DC

The Hitec RDX4 Mini delivers 100W on mains power (100 to 240V) and up to 240W when fed from a DC supply, with a maximum current of 6A. Each channel has its own XT60 and balance connector, and the whole thing is driven from a colour screen.

Every chemistry that matters at the track

The charger takes LiPo, LiHV, LiFe and LiIon packs from 1 to 4 cells, NiMH and NiCd from 1 to 8 cells, and lead acid in 3 or 6 cells. Balance, standard charge, storage and discharge modes are available for all lithium chemistries, while NiMH/NiCd get a re-peak mode and adjustable delta-peak sensitivity. A safety capacity cut-off and a smart ventilation fan complete the package.

Also a bench supply in the pits

Less common on a charger this size: the RDX4 Mini includes a power supply function, able to deliver up to 30V at 6A to run another device in the pits. It all fits into 140 x 108 x 43mm for around 490g, which clearly aims it at the race box rather than the workbench.
