American body specialist JConcepts has just added two brand-new shells to its 1/10 off-road catalog. The body for the Schumacher Cat PB now comes in two distinct profiles: the S15LP, built for fast carpet, and the Striker, styled directly after endurance racers.
S15LP: the Schumacher Cat PB body refined by Broc Champlin
The S15LP builds on the S15, already an IFMAR World Championship-winning body, but with updates requested by world champion Broc Champlin: a lowered roof and reworked side pods for greater high-speed stability. It carries the legacy of the Punisher, Finnisher and Silencer with a single-seat cockpit, pronounced deflection angles, side pod fins, a roof fin and an upright rear spoiler that boosts rear downforce.
Two part numbers are available: 0751 in standard polycarbonate and 0751L in a lightweight version, both priced at $37.00 ($31.45 MAP price).
Striker: LMP prototype looks for 1/10 off-road
Much more distinctive, the Striker relies on a wraparound cab with “sunglasses” style glazing that sets it apart from the rest of the field. The design features a stabilizing rear fin, rounded side pods and a small roof scoop. It ships with a 6.5-inch wing optimized for carpet / artificial turf / dirt, window masks and a detailed decal sheet.
Like its sibling, it comes in 0744 (standard) and 0744L (lightweight) versions, at the same $37.00 price ($31.45 MAP). Both shells are manufactured in Florida.
Which one for which driver?
The choice ultimately comes down to a simple question: the S15LP for those chasing top speed and stability on smooth carpet, the Striker for drivers who want a more versatile compromise — and a car that looks unlike anything else on the grid.
