Orlowski unbeatable from free practice onward
Round 3 of the Euro Touring Series (ETS), backed by Cayote, returned to Arena33 in Andernach, Germany, for a highly anticipated round of 1/10 electric touring. Thursday, dedicated to four rounds of free practice, unfolded under stable weather — light wind, some clouds and sunny spells — ideal conditions for fine-tuning setups on this technical track.
In the flagship Modified class, Polish driver Michal Orlowski (Schumacher / Elceram / Cayote) dominated all four rounds, setting the fastest lap in 50.910 seconds. He heads Portugal’s Bruno Coelho (Infinity / Hobbywing / Sunpadow, 51.511s), backed by mechanic Francesco Martini as he refined his car throughout the day, and Germany’s Simon Lauter (Awesomatix / Hobbywing / Nosram, 51.758s). Germany’s Yannic Prümper (Schumacher/Cayote) rounds out the top 4, just a few hundredths behind.
RC Maker already in the mix in Pro Stock
An encouraging sign for young Australian brand RC Maker, which entered the full-chassis market in 2024: in the Pro Stock class, Germany’s David Reip surprised everyone by topping practice aboard the brand-new SP2, ahead of Olivier Bultynck’s Awesomatix and Enrico Jung’s ARC.
Qualifying gets underway on Friday, with two rounds for the Modified class and more rounds for the other classes racing at Arena33 this weekend.
