Removing play in the Kyosho MP11 gearboxes

Klinik RC is tackling something many 1/8 nitro drivers know without necessarily naming it: under high loads, the bearings and gears move slightly inside the Kyosho MP11 cases. The American tuner is releasing aluminium inserts meant to take up that play and deliver a drivetrain that truly runs straight.

The part is simple but the effect sought is not: less parasitic movement means more consistent meshing, more evenly spread spur wear and more predictable behaviour when the throttle comes back on.

Two configurations: front/rear diffs and centre diff

Two versions are offered, one for the high and low differentials — that is, front and rear — the other for the centre differential. Each pack contains four inserts, enough to treat a single gearbox: two sets are therefore needed to equip a whole car, something Klinik RC spells out on its own listing.

CNC machining and clear anodising

The inserts are CNC machined and clear anodised. The choice of clear anodising is not cosmetic: it hardens the surface of a part that works under permanent load against a bearing race, without adding measurable thickness the way a thick coloured coating would.

Price and availability

The pack of four is listed at $39.99 at Klinik RC, published on 29 August 2026. The brand thus keeps expanding its MP11 range, after its carbon parts bundles and its 1/8 tire gluing jig released earlier in the month.
