Corsatec is strengthening its driver line-up. The brand announces the arrival of Jacob Nicholas, who will from now on use the brand’s RS3 engine on his 1/8 nitro buggy. The news was relayed by Trackside Performance, Corsatec’s distributor in the United Kingdom.

Jacob Nicholas switches to the Corsatec RS3 engine

In its press release, Corsatec says it is “delighted to support Jacob’s upward journey with the RS3 engine, one of the fastest and most reliable in RC”. The driver races on a Team Associated chassis and keeps his car; it is therefore the engine package that changes.

The RS3 is the three-port engine in Corsatec‘s RS range, aimed at 1/8 nitro buggy. It combines a long stroke, a balanced crankshaft, a DLC coating and a ceramic rear bearing — an architecture designed to reconcile torque on corner exit with longevity over thirty to forty-five minute finals.

Corsatec, a young brand carried by two 1/8 benchmarks

Founded in 2022, Corsatec was born from the partnership between Adrien Bertin, three-time IFMAR World Champion, and Oscar Jansen, five-time EFRA European Champion. The RS engine range was developed with this twin expertise as driver and tuner, which explains the brand’s rapid progress on European 1/8 buggy grids.

A signing in line with the brand’s approach

By recruiting a driver on the way up rather than an already established headline name, Corsatec stays true to its strategy: supporting drivers over the long term and feeding their input back into engine development. It remains to be seen what the Jacob Nicholas / RS3 pairing will produce at the upcoming British national rounds.
