Hobbywing is rounding out its 1/10 line-up with the EzRun MAX10 G2S, a sensored brushless ESC that keeps the proven MAX10 G2 format while adding revised electronics, factory-fitted Bluetooth connectivity and a reworked sensored mode. Two versions are offered, one for 2-3S set-ups, the other for chassis with a bigger appetite on 4S.

Hobbywing EzRun MAX10 G2S: two current ratings to cover the whole 1/10 scale

The Hobbywing catalogue lists two variants that are identical in size. The 80A version (part no. 30102700) handles 520A peak and accepts 2 to 3S LiPo packs. The 140A version (part no. 30102500) climbs to 880A peak and opens the door to 4S. In both cases the case measures 53 x 39.5 x 37.2 mm for 125 g including wires, which puts it squarely in the standards of 1/10 short course, monster truck and off-road chassis.

On the motor side, the manufacturer claims compatibility with 3652, 3665 and 4268 sizes depending on the battery configuration chosen — enough to cover both a 2WD track car and a heavy 4×4 truck.

A sharpened sensored mode and turbo timing up to 32°

The brand highlights crisp acceleration combined with a linear power curve: instant throttle response for aggressive launches, but fine control retained at low speed, which matters just as much in technical crawling as on the exit of a slow corner. Turbo timing is adjustable up to 32 degrees and promises a gain of around 25 % in rpm with compatible motors.

Cooling comes from a frameless fan whose activation is temperature-driven, and a dedicated protection monitors capacitor overheating to limit damage in the event of prolonged excessive load.

Bluetooth, HW LINK app and data logging

The Bluetooth module is built into the ESC: no external dongle is needed to change parameters from the HW LINK smartphone app. Programming remains possible through the classic LCD box as well. Firmware updates and performance monitoring go through the same channel.

The EzRun MAX10 G2S also carries an internal logger able to store up to 10 minutes of running data — temperature, rpm, voltage —, a valuable tool for validating a pinion choice or tracking down overheating after a final.

Adjustable BEC and IP67 waterproofing

The BEC delivers 5A at 6.0V, 7.4V or 8.4V as chosen, enough to power a modern high-voltage servo without compromise. The whole unit is IP67 rated, now the expected standard on an ESC aimed at off-road and wet-weather bashing.
