The 2026 EFRA 1:10 Electric Touring Car European Championship has set its starting grid in Luxembourg, and Bruno Coelho comes out as Top Qualifier. The Portuguese World Champion put his Infinity on top from the very first round on Friday evening, then confirmed it with the fastest time of the fifth and final qualifying round.
EFRA 1:10 Electric Touring Car European Championship: Bruno Coelho Top Qualifier at the Mini Circuit “Ville de Luxembourg”
The setting is nothing new for the Infinity driver: it was on this same Mini Circuit “Ville de Luxembourg” that he won last month’s warm-up race. He therefore goes into the finals with both the fastest time and knowledge of the layout, two assets that rarely come apart on such a technical track.
Behind him, Simon Lauter played strategy rather than volume. The Awesomatix driver sat out the first round to save his tyres — a classic gamble in touring, where rubber degradation decides the closing stages of a final — before setting the fastest times in rounds 3 and 4. He will start second.
Michal Orlowski lying in wait, Xray fills the second half of the top 6
Reigning champion Michal Orlowski will start third at the wheel of his Schumacher. The Pole had posted the best performance of the second round, which puts him in a thoroughly workable position to defend his crown.
Fourth, Lucas Urbain is racing at his home track with his Awesomatix, an advantage that counts when you have to read how grip evolves through the day. Alexander Hagberg completes the top half of the grid in fifth, just ahead of his new Xray team-mate Marc Rheinard.
Spec class: Max Mächler on pole, Adam Izsay giving chase
In the Spec class, Max Mächler will start from pole position. The German is chasing a title he last held in 2018. His Awesomatix team-mate Olivier Bultynck and Louis Kretschmer join him in second and third, while defending champion Adam Izsay will have to come through from fourth at the wheel of his Xray.
FWD: Stefan Schulz takes TQ for Xray
The front-wheel-drive class, booming on European tracks, goes to Stefan Schulz: the Xray driver takes the fastest qualifying time and will therefore lead the FWD final away.
Provisional starting grid — premier class
- 1. Bruno Coelho (Infinity)
- 2. Simon Lauter (Awesomatix)
- 3. Michal Orlowski (Schumacher)
- 4. Lucas Urbain (Awesomatix)
- 5. Alexander Hagberg (Xray)
- 6. Marc Rheinard (Xray)
With five qualifying rounds now behind them, everything will be decided in the finals, where tyre management and traffic will weigh as heavily as outright pace.
