Kyosho Egg is expanding its entry-level range with the FIRST MINI-Z Skyline Super Silhouette ’82, a ready-to-run 1/28 scale radio-controlled car that takes up the extravagant lines of the Nissan Skyline RS Turbo from the Super Silhouette championship. Listed under part number 66621, it is priced at 9,328 yen and announced for August 2026.

FIRST MINI-Z Skyline Super Silhouette ’82: the Japanese Group 5 icon in miniature

The body reproduces the Nissan Skyline RS Turbo number 11 in Tomica colours, one of the most recognisable silhouettes of the Japanese Super Silhouette championship of the early 1980s: widened wheel arches, oversized wing, diving front splitter. The tail lights are functional, a rare detail on a model of this size and price, and the gold mesh wheels complete the reference to the original race car.

True proportional control, not an on/off toy

The technical argument of the FIRST MINI-Z series lies in what Kyosho calls the “New Real Drive Mechanism”: steering and throttle are proportional, as on a competition radio, and not limited to the extreme positions of entry-level models. In practice, the driver meters steering angle and speed, which makes it possible to take a corner cleanly instead of zigzagging from one stop to the other.

The set runs on 2.4 GHz and accepts up to twelve cars at the same time, enough to organise a real race between friends without interference.

Training mode, Racing mode and a stopwatch built into the transmitter

A switch makes it possible to change between a Training mode limited to 7 km/h, ideal for beginners and confined spaces, and a Racing mode that releases 10 km/h. The transmitter also includes a stopwatch: combined with the six cones supplied in the box, it turns a corridor or a living room into a time attack track. Announced running time reaches about 60 minutes with fresh alkaline batteries.
