Yeah Racing is announcing a batch of aluminium and titanium options for several entry- and mid-level platforms. Relayed by POWERS, its Japanese distributor, the list covers the Tamiya DT-02, DT-03 and DT-04 buggies as well as the GF-02 off-road chassis, not forgetting rear-wheel-drive Mini-Z rims. Shipping is announced for the end of August 2026.
Yeah Racing: an aluminium gearbox for the Tamiya DT-02, DT-03 and DT-04
The most eagerly awaited part of this wave is the aluminium gearbox compatible with the DT-02, DT-03 and DT-04, the two-wheel-drive buggies that serve as the basis for countless builds. Replacing the stock plastic housing with a machined version solves two well-known problems on these chassis in one go: gearbox deformation under torque, which makes the gear mesh vary, and heat dissipation from the pinion and spur gear.
The GF-02 chassis gains a complete conversion set
Tamiya‘s GF-02 gets three new items of its own. The “Essential” aluminium conversion set gathers into a single reference the parts deemed indispensable to make the chassis more reliable. It is complemented by an aluminium servo mount, which removes the flex of the stock mount and makes the steering more consistent, and by a set of titanium turnbuckles, lighter than steel and immune to corrosion.
Two rim families for rear-wheel-drive Mini-Z
Mini-Z RWD drivers are not left out, with two rim series available in several offsets. The narrow series comes in 0, +1, +1.5 and +2, the wide series in -1, 0, +1 and +2. That is enough to fine-tune front and rear track according to carpet grip, a decisive adjustment on these 1/28 micro chassis where a few tenths of a millimetre change the handling.
The range is rounded out by 5 mm adjustable aluminium bullet plugs. All of these references will ship simultaneously across Japan from the end of August 2026.
