Hitec launches the SAFEGUARD and FIRE RESISTANT fireproof pouches for LiPo batteries

Japanese brand Hitec (Hitec Multiplex Japan) is expanding its range of safety accessories with two fireproof pouches aimed at RC LiPo batteries as well as power banks. Announced on 7 August 2026, the Hitec fireproof pouch SAFEGUARD (part number FPP01, silver) and its twin FIRE RESISTANT (part number FPP02, black) will arrive in mid-August 2026 at a single price of 2,420 yen including tax, around fifteen euros.

Both models use a three-layer construction: an outer shell and an inner lining in silicone-coated glass fibre, separated by an intermediate EVA layer. The assembly is certified to the UL94 V-0 flammability standard, the most demanding grade of the vertical burning test: the material is self-extinguishing as soon as the flame is removed, which limits the spread of a fire to the outside. Stated resistance climbs to 500 °C at peak, with the structure holding its shape and slowing heat transfer to the inside.

Water resistance, storage and carrying

The silicone coating also acts as a water barrier: it blocks water ingress, useful when a fire is being hosed down, and at the same time protects packs from moisture and mould during storage. On the practical side, each pouch includes a mesh pocket for cables and adapters, an elastic band that keeps the contents in place and a carrying strap so it can be clipped to a pit bag. The surface treatment also softens contact with the glass fibre, which is often irritating, for maintenance-free use.
