The JConcepts And-1 inserts are back in the catalogue. This range of 2.2in open cell foams, used in competition since 2007, returns in three separate part numbers to cover the needs of 1/10 off-road.

The range comes in a version for 2.2in stadium truck tyres, a version for 2.2in buggy rear tyres and a version for 2.2in buggy front tyres. Each insert is sized for the carcass it is intended for, which avoids the compromises of a single insert fitted everywhere.

Die-cutting for consistency

According to JConcepts, the And-1 range relies on superior materials and on a die-cutting manufacturing process. The benefit is twofold: consistency from one insert to the next, therefore predictable behaviour from one set of tyres to another, and better durability than less precisely cut foams.

Open cell foam remains the classic choice for drivers looking for compliance and progressive heat build-up, where a closed cell foam offers firmer support. On tracks where grip changes through the day, that compliance helps the tyre stay in contact with the ground.
