The teaser published in late September only announced the comeback of a cult transmitter: all we knew was that KO Propo was relaunching the EX-10, with no technical details at all. That has now changed: at the 64th All Japan Model & Hobby Show in Tokyo, KO Propo unveiled the EX-10’s real specifications, and the feature list looks dense for a radio that clearly targets the high end of the market.
The first visible change: the transmitter moves to a high-resolution color LCD screen, with a fully redesigned interface and menus to make the most of the display. The main TOP screen has been reorganized to show driving information more clearly than before, something older monochrome KO Propo radios often lacked.
XT2: the new communication protocol powering the KO Propo EX-10
The technical heart of the announcement is the proprietary XT2 communication system. KO Propo claims a 20% faster communication speed compared to the previous XT system, for better stability and sharper steering and throttle response. This XT2 protocol pairs with a new dedicated receiver, the KR-426XT2, but the radio remains backward-compatible with existing XT receivers as well as the MINI-Z EVO2, via the MINI-Z EVO2 receiver unit for KO Propo (part no. 82045).
On the steering side, the EX-10 keeps a standard 0 to 10° angle adjustment range, but KO Propo now bundles an accessory called the ST Angle Holder, which extends that range to 20-30°. The steering mechanism has also been reworked to deliver a sharper initial response and a more linear, direct feel, an argument likely to appeal to touring as well as drift competitors.
The KO Propo EX-10 transmitter is slated for a December 2026 release. Pricing and exact European availability haven’t been announced yet, but the combination of a color screen, the XT2 protocol and extended compatibility with the existing receiver fleet makes it one of the most closely watched radio announcements of the year.
