Team Associated: a 1/5 scale electric buggy spotted at the Vintage Championships

An eye-catching prototype turned up at Team Associated‘s 2026 Vintage Championships in Las Vegas: a massive electric buggy that appears to be roughly 1/5 scale, informally nicknamed “RC5” by onlookers at the event, an obvious nod to the RC10 lineage. Images shared by Craig Drescher, who attended the event, show a highly finished build, closer to an advanced pre-production sample than a rough test mule.

No official statement has been made by Team Associated yet regarding specs, release date or pricing for this oversized buggy. The polished presentation quality of a prototype shown publicly at a brand event does suggest a mid-term commercial release rather than a purely internal styling exercise, though.

1/5 scale electric buggies remain a niche segment of the RC market: an eventual official launch would be a notable event for the Team Associated line-up.
