RC Discharger is releasing Battery Benchmark, a software platform that finally makes it possible to compare two LiPo packs under strictly identical conditions. Announced on 27 August 2026, the tool is aimed at racers who want measured figures rather than the values printed on the label.

Two packs, one test

The principle is dual-channel testing: two LiPos are discharged in parallel and the software displays the voltage and temperature curves of each one live. The comparison also covers the capacity actually delivered and the internal resistance, with directly comparable result sheets. It is the only reliable way to separate two packs with the same part number, whose ageing often diverges after a few dozen cycles.

Automatic archiving and long-term tracking

Every test is archived automatically and tied to a unique battery identification. A racer can therefore track a pack’s drift across a whole season, compare several packs with one another, and run cycling programs or break-in routines for new packs. RC Discharger says more features are in development.

Platforms, required hardware and availability

Battery Benchmark is currently in beta on Windows and Android, with iPhone and iPad versions planned. On PC, the connection is made directly over USB with no additional installation; on Android, the brand’s USB Benchmark Adapter is required along with a tablet running Android 13 or later with at least 4 GB of memory. An iCharger temperature sensor is mandatory. The software is free, but reserved for owners of an RC Discharger regenerative discharger.
