2026 Whitz Tri-State Challenge: 170 entries for the finals

Raw RC Raceway hosted the finals of the 2026 Whitz Tri-State Challenge Series, with a field of around 170 entries. The series, dedicated to 1/10 dirt oval classes, closes out a season that saw short course regulars cross paths with radio-controlled sprint car specialists. The finals, run on a track whose grip changed considerably through the day, put suspension setups to a serious test.

Jarod Howard untouchable in Outlaw

The performance of the weekend goes to Jarod Howard, who completed a double by winning both Outlaw Sprint and Outlaw Latemodel. The two classes, the fastest of the meeting, demand very fine traction management on a surface that ruts up as the heats go by. Dan Murray took the win in Open Midwest Modified, while Tyler Buhrmester claimed the Midget class.

CJ Greaves a double winner in 13.5

The 13.5 classes, which cap motor power to close up the field, also produced a double. CJ Greaves won both 13.5 Late Model and 13.5 Street Stock, confirming his versatility across the two chassis. Brian Lettrich took 13.5 Sprint, one of the most contested classes in the series.

Among the newcomers, Cameron Jenkins claimed victory in Novice. These finals close a season that confirmed the health of radio-controlled dirt oval in the tri-state region, a discipline often given less coverage than classic off-road but whose fields keep growing. The series carries the name of Whitz Racing Products, title partner of the event.
